Electronic Mail FAQ - Web-Based E-Mail Issues

Q. I use TDE's web-based mail client via my web browser. What configuration settings do I need to change in my web browser to access my TDE-provided e-mail services following the mail system upgrade?

A. There are only two things that need to be changed in order for you to access the web-based mail client: the website address used to access the web-based mail client, and your login id.

Website Address:
If your e-mail address ends with "@TDE.COM", the website address is: http://email.tde.com/webmail.
If your e-mail address does not end with @TDE.COM", the website address is: http://email.yourdomain.com/webmail.

Login ID:
Your login id is your complete e-mail address:
If your e-mail address ends with "@TDE.COM", your login id looks like youraddress@tde.com.
If your e-mail address does not end with "@TDE.COM", your login id looks like youraddress@yourdomain.com.

Q. The old web-based mail client had a "Check Mail" icon that I could use to check for new mail. I don't see that icon in the new web-based mail client. How do I check for new mail?

A. You can check for new mail at any time by clicking on the "Inbox" tab at the top of the window. Your inbox will be refreshed to include any new e-mail messages that have arrived.

Q. When I click on the "Check Spelling" button, I receive a message telling me that an Internet Explorer extension must be downloaded and installed on my computer. What does this mean?

A. Spell checking in the new web-based mail client is performed by your computer, rather than by the server as was the case with the old web-based mail client. In order for spell check to function, you must be using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, and you must download and install a third-party extension to Microsoft's Internet Explorer called ieSpell. Clicking the OK button in the message box, will open a browser window to the ieSpell website where you can read more about ieSpell. The website includes links for downloading and installing ieSpell on your computer. Clicking the CANCEL button will return you to the message you were composing without installing the spell check extension.
